Ambala goes electric! AC e-buses to run on 7 key city routes — check list

The roads in the Ambala city are soon going to become green. Yes, a huge gift has been given to passengers by Haryana Roadways. Now 5 electric AC buses are running on local routes. In fact, there are 15 buses in total. Also, there are 10 buses which are already running. These buses not only have great facilities but will clean up smog in the environment. Now, we will give you the entire details.

Earlier, there were 10 electric buses. Now there are 15. What difference will that make?

Ambala Roadways’ General Manager Ashwani Kumar Dogra said that these buses are to ply only on local routes. Earlier, there used to be 10 AC e-buses in the district. They started functioning from January 26th, 2025, and June 5th, 2025. Now, 5 more buses have been introduced to complete a total of 15. Dogra Sahib says, “This move has been made for the convenience of people. Now mini-buses are plying on smaller routes. Now you can easily go to any corner.”

The local transportation system was revived after almost 25 years. Haryana Minister Anil Vij inaugurated the service on November 1st using 10 mini buses. But now, citizens are pleased to see more electric buses. A commuter was heard saying, “Before, we used to sweat because of heat, but now we will get coolness in AC.”

In which routes will these new buses ply? Entire list below.

These new routes will cater to the Ambala City to Cantt areas. The major routes are given below:

Ambala City – Ambala Cantt
Ambala City – Subhash Park – Nanhera
Ambala City – Maheshwar Nagar – Babyal – Boh
Ambala City – Defence Colony – Kalerheri – Panjokhra Sahib
Ambala City – Shastri Colony – Shahpur – Mohri – Baldev Nagar – MM Hospital
Ambala City – Kardahan – Brahmin Majra
Ambala City – Dukheri – Mohra – Barola – Malwa

Buses will run frequently along these routes. The cost per trip is affordable. Less pollution because these buses use electricity. There’s no smoke!

The wait ends! 23 new bus shelters are to be constructed. They will offer these facilities

“Waiting for a bus will not be a problem anymore. The government has rolled out construction projects for 23 contemporary bus queue shelters. These shelters will include electricity, lighting, seating areas, and shade. One can wait comfortably regardless of whether it’s rainy or sunny weather.” A citizen praised, “It’s great to see these improvements. The city is really smart.”

Environment benefits, passengers’ comfort – “Green Mission” launched in Ambala

These buses will cut carbon emissions. Ambala’s environment will benefit because there will be less carbon in the atmosphere. Cheap, cool, and safe transportation – what else does one need? The Haryana government wants to spread these green modes of transportation. Ambala has set a good example.
